Meet Dr. Jon Podesta, chiropractor at Limitless Chiropractic

Hi Dr. Jon, thank you for joining us today! Please introduce yourself — who you are, your background, what service you provide?

My name is Dr. Jon Podesta, and I'm a chiropractor at Limitless Chiropractic in Austin, Texas. I earned my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts before completing my Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life Chiropractic College West. My practice focuses on helping people move, feel, and perform at their best through chiropractic care, corrective exercises, spinal decompression, posture analysis, and X-ray-guided treatment. While I work with a wide variety of patients, I particularly enjoy helping active individuals, professionals, athletes, and people recovering from injuries return to doing the things they love without relying solely on medications or invasive procedures. My approach is centered around education. I want patients to understand not only what is causing their symptoms, but also what we can do together to address the underlying problem and create long-term improvements in their health.

How did you get started? What led you to this industry? Was it always the plan?

Chiropractic wasn't always the plan! I've always been fascinated by the human body, movement, exercise, and performance. During my undergraduate studies in kinesiology, I knew I wanted a career in healthcare, but I wasn't completely sure what that would look like. As I learned more about biomechanics, rehabilitation, and athletic performance, chiropractic became increasingly appealing. What ultimately drew me to the profession was the opportunity to spend meaningful time with patients and help them improve their quality of life. Many healthcare providers are limited in the amount of time they can spend with each patient, but chiropractic allows me to build relationships, educate people, and be actively involved in their progress over time.

What do you love most about the work? What keeps you motivated and inspired day to day?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing people get their lives back. Pain affects so much more than physical comfort. It impacts sleep, work, exercise, hobbies, relationships, and overall quality of life, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see someone who couldn't get quality sleep, sit comfortably at their desk, play with their kids, return to the gym, or enjoy a favorite activity finally regain that ability and enjoy doing the things they are passionate about. What motivates me most is seeing measurable progress. Whether it's reduced pain, improved mobility, better posture, or seeing someone return to working out, those wins always feel great.

What's something people don't see or know about your industry?

Many people think chiropractic care is primarily about treating pain, but pain is often just one piece of the puzzle. What people don't always see is how often we assess movement patterns, posture, daily habits, work environments, exercise routines, sleep positions, and other factors that may be contributing to the problem. The goal isn't to temporarily manage symptoms and make someone feel better for a few days. Rather, our aim is to understand why the issue developed in the first place and make meaningful, long-term improvements to help prevent it from returning in the future. Another misconception is that chiropractic is simply about "cracking backs." In reality, modern chiropractic involves much more than spinal adjustments. We routinely work with essentially any joint in the body, not just the spine (think: shoulders, hips, knees, etc.), and also incorporate movement assessment, rehabilitation, exercise prescription, lifestyle recommendations, ergonomics, injury prevention, and patient education. The best outcomes often come from a comprehensive approach rather than any single treatment.

What resources, tools, or support do you wish existed?

Healthcare as a whole could benefit from more resources dedicated to proactivity and prevention rather than simply reacting to problems after they develop. Many of the issues I see every day — chronic pain, poor posture, mobility restrictions, and repetitive stress injuries — often develop gradually over years. I would love to see more accessible resources that help people understand movement, exercise, ergonomics, recovery, and long-term health/wellness before problems arise or worsen.

What do you want potential clients to know about you or your work?

I want potential patients to know that I prioritize taking a thorough and personalized approach to care with every one of my patients. Every patient is unique, and therefore I believe the care patients receive should be tailored to not only the specific issue(s) they seek to fix, but to their body, their lifestyle, and their goals. My goal is always to understand each person's unique situation, explain what's going on in a way that makes sense to them, and create a plan for the future that aligns with their goals. I also place a strong emphasis on education. I want patients to leave appointments feeling informed and empowered rather than confused or dependent on treatment. I love helping patients understand what they can do on their own between visits to support the work we're doing in the office. When patients have the right knowledge and strategies to address issues at home, they tend to make faster progress and feel more in control of their health. Whether someone is dealing with neck pain, back pain, disc injuries, sports injuries, postural concerns, or recovery after a car accident, my goal is always the same: help them move better, feel better, and stay better.

Your contact info and links are on your Maisaic profile, is there anything else you'd like to share with the readers?

Thanks for reading! One piece of advice I'd leave readers with is this: don't wait until a problem becomes severe before seeking help. Regardless of what the issue is, addressing it early is often much easier (and quicker) than trying to solve it after it’s been around for months or years.
