Meet Louren Molina, Esthetician & Owner of Simply Aesthetics

Hi Louren, thanks so much for being here! To kick things off, can you introduce yourself — who you are, your background, and what services you provide?

My name is Louren Molina, and I am the owner and esthetician behind Simply Aesthetics in Round Rock, Texas. I specialize in results-driven skincare treatments, lash extensions, lash lifts, brow services, and waxing. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where clients can invest in their skin, confidence, and overall well-being. I've worked in the beauty and wellness industry for several years, helping clients achieve healthy skin and feel their best. Through Simply Aesthetics, I've been able to combine my passion for education, client care, and customized treatments into a business that focuses on both results and experience. I believe self-care should be accessible, personalized, and empowering for everyone.

How did you get started? What led you to this industry? Was it always the plan?

My path into esthetics wasn't something I always envisioned growing up, but once I discovered the industry, I knew I had found something I was passionate about. I was drawn to the combination of science, artistry, and human connection that esthetics offers. What started as an interest in skincare quickly grew into a passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. Over time, I realized I wanted to create a space where clients felt genuinely cared for and educated, not just treated. That vision ultimately led me to open Simply Aesthetics, where I could provide a more personalized experience while building meaningful relationships with my clients.

What do you love most about your work? What keeps you motivated and inspired?

The most rewarding part of my work is seeing the confidence that clients gain. Whether someone is struggling with skin concerns, wants to simplify their skincare routine, or simply needs an hour to relax and recharge, being able to positively impact how they feel about themselves is incredibly fulfilling. I am motivated by the relationships I build with my clients and the opportunity to continue learning. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, with new research, techniques, and innovations emerging all the time. Staying educated allows me to provide better results and continue growing both professionally and personally.

What's something people don't see or know about your industry?

One thing many people don't realize is how much education, training, and ongoing learning goes into being an esthetician. Clients see the treatment itself, but behind every service are countless hours studying skin health, ingredients, treatment protocols, sanitation standards, and how to safely customize services for each individual. There's also a common misconception that beauty services are purely cosmetic — in reality, there's a significant focus on health and safety. We're responsible for understanding how treatments affect the skin, recognizing contraindications, maintaining strict sanitation practices, and ensuring every service is performed responsibly. Licensing and regulation is another area that surprises many consumers. Services such as lash extensions require licensure in Texas, and the industry continues to evolve. In January 2024, curriculum updates under House Bill 3581 formally expanded eyelash specialist training to include lash lifting, lash shaping, and lash coloring — reflecting both how the industry is growing and the importance of proper education before offering services around such a sensitive area as the eyes. A certificate from a private course and a state-issued professional license are not the same thing. Licensure means a provider has met state education requirements, passed examinations, and is held accountable to professional standards designed to protect the public. Beyond the treatment room, there's an entire side of this industry most clients never see. Running a business involves inventory management, marketing, bookkeeping, client communication, and continuing education — the service itself is only one part of what goes into creating a high-quality client experience. As the beauty industry continues to grow, understanding the value of working with licensed professionals matters more than ever.

What resources, tools, or support do you wish existed?

I would love to see more accessible business resources and mentorship opportunities for beauty professionals who want to start and grow their own businesses. Many estheticians are incredibly talented service providers but are expected to become marketers, accountants, content creators, and business owners all at once. I would also love to see greater consumer education around skincare and beauty services. There is so much misinformation online, and having more accessible, science-based education would help consumers make informed decisions about their skin and the professionals they choose to work with.

What do you want potential clients to know about you or your work?

I want potential clients to know that I genuinely care about their experience and results. Every service I provide is customized to the individual because no two clients are exactly alike. My goal is never to sell the most expensive treatment—it's to recommend what will truly help someone achieve their goals. At Simply Aesthetics, clients can expect a welcoming, judgment-free environment where they feel heard, educated, and cared for. I strive to combine professional expertise with a personal touch, creating an experience that helps clients leave feeling refreshed, confident, and empowered.
