Meet Mary Joy, hairstylist and healer

Hi Mary Joy, thanks for sharing your story! Please introduce yourself — who you are, your background, what service you provide?

Hello! I am Mary Joy — a hairstylist whose journey led me far beyond the chair. Though I have a deep passion for creating beauty through hair, I am also a healer, teacher, and guide in the lineage of King Salomon. My true devotion lies in the study of the soul and the mysteries of the universe. Physical and spiritual self-mastery drives my life's work. Through it, I've been able to transform countless lives. There is nothing more fulfilling than being in service to others. To help someone feel beautiful and witness them access their inner power is the best job in the world.

How did you get started? What led you to this industry? Was it always the plan?

It was never my plan to do hair, let alone teach metaphysics. I just knew I never wanted a soul-sucking, mindless job. I gained a passion for hair because I love connecting with people, and I love how I get to blend creativity and intellect to create beauty. It was pure fun for me. What led me down the spiritual path was a near-death experience. It woke me up to the realization that there is more to life than just going through the motions, and that I was meant for something more. There is a saying: what you're looking for is looking for you. And upon searching for myself and my purpose, I came across the path to self mastery and spiritual progression. The path to know thyself.

What do you love most about the work? What keeps you motivated and inspired day to day?

Nothing has become more important to me than reminding everyone around me that we are here to master our lives. There is another saying that goes: “You will either conquer thyself or be conquered by self.” This work has brought so much depth, meaning, and joy to my life. It liberated me from my own inner suffering. What I love most about what I do is seeing others awaken to their divine potential. I love seeing someone’s soul light up. I love seeing someone step into their true power by sharing spiritual tools and wisdom that reconnect them to spirit.

What's something people don't see or know about your industry?

There is so much people don't see. There is a whole invisible world — and invisible forces — that govern our reality that most people choose to deny or ignore. This is the basis of metaphysics and esoterics: to study the powers of the universe and to understand our spiritual nature. Making the invisible visible is a challenging task in and of itself. And with the world waking up, I'm seeing so much confusion and misunderstanding when it comes to spirituality. We live in a world where we have access to so much information that it's hard to discern up from down and left from right. It's important to navigate life with wisdom, discernment, and clarity — and that takes truly knowing thyself and knowing god.

What resources, tools, or support do you wish existed?

What I wish more people knew is that what they're truly searching for can not be found outside of themselves. You can have the house, the car, the money, the relationship, the successful career, and still feel lost. Still feel unfulfilled. Still carry the quiet ache that something is missing. What's missing is YOU. The deepest longing of the human soul isn't for more achievements or success. It's for remembrance. It's for alignment with your soul and spirit. It's for a living connection with god and the divine. What people truly need is higher knowledge, deeper wisdom, and the sacred keys to access the most divine parts of themselves. They need to remember that all the power, love, wisdom, and light they have been searching for is not outside of them. It has always lived within.

What do you want potential clients to know about you or your work?

I love that I can help people look beautiful — and that I get to show up for people from all walks of life, on their best days and their hardest ones. Yes, I'm here to help you look beautiful. But I'm also here to help you remember who you are. I'm here to remind you that you are a divine being, here to learn how to master life in the physical. I'm here to hold the door open for people who are ready to dive into the deepest parts of themselves, and remember who they are.
