Meet Tabitha LeJeune, Realtor with Kuper Sotheby's International Realty

Please introduce yourself — who you are, your background, what service you provide?

Hi, my name is Tabitha LeJeune. I was born and raised in New Orleans and moved to Austin about four years ago. I’m a local Realtor who takes great pride in helping people navigate the real estate process, whether they’re buying their first home, selling a property, or making a move to their next chapter. I also work with renters looking for their next home and landlords looking to lease their properties. My goal is to make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible while helping each client find the right solution for their needs.

How did you get started? What led you to this industry? Was it always the plan?

I got into real estate during COVID. After working in a dental office, handling everything from the front desk to the back office, and being denied a vacation, I realized I wanted more independence and the opportunity to work for myself. I figured if I could help run a busy dental office, I could run my own business. My aunt owned a boutique brokerage in Louisiana and inspired me to get into the industry. I started learning from my aunt during the COVID real estate boom, then moved to Austin to build something of my own outside my hometown.

What do you love most about the work? What keeps you motivated and inspired day to day?

I’m a big empath, so I genuinely love helping people through different stages of life. Sometimes buying or selling a home is one of the happiest experiences, and other times it comes during a big life change like a divorce or loss. I like being someone my clients can rely on through all of it. I also take pride in my communication and organization because I want my clients to feel informed, supported, and never left guessing.

What's something people don't see or know about your industry?

I don’t think people realize how much goes on behind the scenes in a real estate transaction. There’s a lot of follow-up, coordinating with other agents, solving problems and making sure things stay on track. Sometimes we’re putting out fires that our clients never even know about because we’ve handled them before they became a bigger issue. I once had a client see an email thread with over 60 messages and say, “OMG, you really are doing so much.” It was a good reminder that people don’t always see all the work that goes into making a transaction feel smooth on their end.

What resources, tools, or support do you wish existed?

I think it would be cool to have something like a dating app, but for consumers and real estate agents. Clients could match with agents based on their personality, the areas they specialize in, and the type of transaction they need help with. Not every client and agent is going to be the right fit, and that’s okay. I think finding the right match from the beginning could make the experience better for both sides. Maybe Maisaic will let us swipe right on our favorite providers someday!

What do you want potential clients to know about you or your work?

I’m in sales, but I’ve never really seen myself as a salesperson. I’m not here to pressure you into buying or selling. I don’t care how long it takes you to make a decision, and I’m not afraid to tell you if I think it’s not the right time. I want you to feel confident that you made the right decision and didn’t leave anything on the table. I also communicate and respond quickly, which sounds like the bare minimum, but unfortunately, it’s something that’s lacking in this industry. I want my clients to know I’m looking out for their best interests, not just trying to close a deal.

Your contact info and links are on your Maisaic profile, is there anything else you'd like to share with the readers?

I’m always happy to be a resource. You don’t have to be ready to make a move to reach out. Sometimes having the right information is the best place to start.
